How To Become An Architect

Do you enjoy building things?
Do you have a strong analytical side?
Do you have a strong creative side?
Do you like flexible hours?
Are you good at problem solving?

If you answered "yes" to these questions and you're looking for the perfect career, look no further. You should become an architect.

But what does an architect do exactly?
As an architect, you will have the ultimate creative job. Basically, with feedback from your clients, you'll create a residential or commercial space from scratch. It's very challenging work, but extremely rewarding. You'll quickly learn that there are many different considerations that must go into each aspect of your design. It's no cakewalk, but it's certainly not boring either.

Get your training
Because designing new buildings is such a complicated procedure, you'll want to make certain that you receive the proper training before you attempt to become an architect. In fact, the law says you must. Why? Because each structure must be environmentally safe, handicap accessible, and structurally sound. Your buildings must meet all state and federal regulations—down to the very last nail. For this reason, you must be licensed before you can start working as an architect.

Don't despair. Although there are many rules you must follow, getting the requisite training is easier than you might have imagined. Break out your ruler and pencil—you've got some buildings to design.
